Vanilla Visa Gift Card compatible or not Compatible to be used on ApplePay?

Apple Pay® is now available with all Sutton Bank Debit and Personal Credit Cards. Apple Pay allows you to make in-store and in-app payments easily and securely from your iPhone® or Apple WatchTM.*

The Sutton Bank web page instructs to call the phone number on the back of the card if there is any problem using the Card.

The person answering the phone states that the Sutton Bank Debit (Gift) card does not Support And cannot be used with Apple Pay.

So after paying $100.00 for A Sutton Backed card That I cannot use on Apple Pay I am told to try buying a different Card.

I see no Disclaimers on the card that state “This card does not Support Apple Pay”

Great - So How do I know before I buy if the Debit - Gift card can be used on Apple Pay?
