What is the max usable wattage the iPad Air 5 will take for charging? Apple shows a 67W charger as compatible, but is it actually using all 67 watts or does it cut off at 30, 45, 60 or whatever number?
iPad Air 5 Wi-Fi, Cellular
The iPad Air5 will draw 18-20W at its maximum charging rate. A USB PD (Power Delivery) compliant Power Adapter of higher wattage can be used, but the iPad will not draw any more power than its highest supported charging rate.
A higher wattage Power Adapter is useful when connecting a USB hub and/or other USB accessories. Sufficient source power will be available to power both the hub and USB accessories - while allowing the iPad to charge its battery at its fastest rate.
