Apple CarPlay will not notify me of incoming text messages

No resolution on my other post, so thought I would post yet again. I have a 2019 Volvo S60. Apple CarPlay has never announced incoming messages. I thought maybe it was just the car, so I tried in our 2019 Audi Q5, but it doesn’t announce in there either.

I have enabled Notifications > Siri > Announce Notifications: Announce Notifications is enabled, Announce When Connected To CarPlay Messages is enabled, When CarPlay Starts - Announce New Messages is enabled. Scheduled Summary is disabled. Focus > Do Not Disturb is disabled.

It’s not making sense, and it isn’t just my car since I have tried both cars. My iPhone 12 Pro is running iOS 15.6 - up to date.

I would greatly appreciate some assistance. I drive A-LOT so it would be much more convenient if it announces my text messages. Thank you.
