Apple Watch vo2 max data

Due to biking accident I have a lot of metal in my leg, and my Doctor says no more jogging/running or long fast walks. I have started biking again and my rides now show elevated HR for more than 20 (more than 135 bpm) mins, cal/hr burns of about 600 cal (exercise) / hr. At over 70 I think these numbers should get recorded. These number match pre-accident workouts and my watch recorded vo2 numbers of low 40’s. I found some vo2 max formulas on the web and they give similar numbers low 40s high 30 s.

Does AW now only plot walking/running/jogging workouts?

Outside walking, outside running and hiking are the only 3 workout types that give a VO2Max figure.
