Keynote list with square brackets

I have a choice of numbered list formatting that includes everything in the below screenshot. I want to have lists with square brackets like this:

[1] First item

[2] Second item

[3] Third item

This is good for academic references. How do I accomplish this?

you may post feedback to Apple using the Keynote menu item "Keynote > Provide Keynote Feedback"

As a work around, you will have to change the formatting for each item in your enumerated list that uses square braces.

Settings of a text box in Keynote after adding text:

Adjust alignment:

Adjust Indentation using the indent tool:

Each new line of text will retain the formatting from the previous

Sorry, but there seems to be a misunderstanding. In my first post, the text is not wrapping around to a new line. If you just press enter at the end of a new line then the indentation will not be correct. The whole point of using itemised lists for formatting is because it indents when text wraps around. Note the difference between "wrapping around" and "pressing enter". I hope that is more clear now. If I am missing something, please do correct me. It looks as though Keynote is missing the capability to do what I want exactly.
