I am trying to add money to my pasmo card and it keeps saying payment not completed.

It turns out that there had been a widespread issue with charging Japanese transit cards, but at least now it seems that — as ridiculous as this sounds — if it doesn’t work when selecting the suggested ¥1000, $2000, or ¥5000 options, manually typing the amount to charge allows it to work. 🤷 @kanjo on Twitter has a thread on this.

It hasn’t worked for me at all with Visa (various) for the last week or so, though I can still use Mastercard (Apple Card) and American Express (various). Hopefully it’s fixed soon. 🤷

Same here. It hasn’t worked for me since at least 2022/08/06, with any cars. No problems before that. And I’m able to charge Suica still using my Apple Card. The credit card company isn’t getting anything, so this would be an issue either with Pasmo or Apple — seemingly plausible if they’re making changes in preparation for iOS 16, which has a lot of new Apple Pay stuff.

That didn’t work for me. I’ll check out that Twitter thread for some more ideas
