Is there a live captioning feature in a Chrome or Safari app on iPad? Chrome web browser does have that feature….

Chrome web browser does have a live captioning feature for deaf persons who want to “listen” to podcasts or any other radio stations, watch videos that are not automatically captioned, and FaceTime/Zoom video calls so why does not Chrome(or Safari) app on any iPad have it? Hope that there will be asap. Let me know about this. Thanks

Thank you for the reply. I was only talking about the LIVE CAPTIONING feature that iOS devices(iPads and iPhones) still do not have yet. So please read carefully…and I already know all about the captioning and subtitling thing on all iOS devices as I already have those features(not live) turned on as always. Now guess what I just found out after searching sometime on finding info about how to get the Live Captioning feature on the iPad or iPhone… See the screen shot below…saying that iOS(currently 15.6) will be upgraded to 16 that includes the LIVE CAPTIONING feature next month…. Finally!

YouTube website/app does have the optional auto generated captioning feature as it has been for a few years now and Google Chrome is the only one web browser(for iMacs and MacBooks/Airs only) that does have that feature. Safari web browser still does not have that yet.

Welcome fred3351,

Apple does offer quite a few accessibility features within their iOS software. Here is a guide to cover all the features they have available to offer: Hearing accessibility features in iOS - Apple Support.

Made for iPhone hearing aids
Live Listen
Visual alerts
RTT calls
FaceTime video calls
Video subtitles
Headphone Accommodations

Additionally, check out this link to learn how to Display subtitles and captions for videos on iPad - Apple Support. As it shows there, the subtitles and captions will show in supported video apps.

Kind regards!
