How do I update iMac from Catalina to Big Sur. I downloaded from the App Store but it said something about the gatekeeper not allowing and it disappeared. Where did the download go? What went wrong?

Hello... you can update via support.apple.com search download big sur and click the link that says download big store from the app store. Please be advised if that is a 2013 or older it will not run Big Sur as Catalina is the latest OS you may run.
