Apple Watch 7 has stopped recording gps on Strava swims

About 10 days ago my wife and my Apple Watches both stopped recording GPS trace on swimming using the Strava app. Previously they had been logged just fine. Does anybody know how to cure this, as currently we are having fun pretending we’re doing a variety of activities rather than swimming, and then changing the activity type once it’s uploaded to Strava 😂🙄

im. It minded to delete everything and reset as I’m sure it’s just a software glitch caused by an update.
