Have to turn off and on Wi-Fi to connect to Internet

On both my iPhone 13 and iPad Air 5 when I pick them up after a while there’s no internet connectivity. I have to turn Wi-Fi off and back on then everything starts working again. I’ve missed some important emails because of this and it’s very inconvenient.

Ive tried forgetting my network and reconnecting and that helps for a day. Not real excited about resetting the network settings.

Is this a known issue?

Try first to optimize the range of the mobile network, see this Apple article:

If you see No Service or Searching on your iPhone or iPad

Check Wi-Fi connection:

Check the route settings, see -> Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points

If they are On, turn Off Hotspot & VPN.

Contact also your ISP.

If you have multiple Apple devices, use Private Wi-Fi addresses, see -> Use private Wi-Fi addresses on iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Apple Watch

Use private Wi-Fi addresses on iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Apple Watch - Apple Support

If you use Private Wi-Fi addresses then you can assign the iPhone a MAC address & a Private IP address.

Log in to the router, add your iPhone NAME + iPhone MAC address  + private IP address.

Your iPhone MAC address is: go to Settings -> General -> About -> the Wi-Fi address (note this address).

Assign a private IP address to the iPhone, for example 192.168.x.xxx or 169.254.x.xxx.

This depends on the router & other iDevices that have already been added.

What is important, check the list and the last xxx must be different from the iDevices that have already been added.

This is less than helpful. Though I appreciate the response I don’t believe you are understanding the problem. My Wi-Fi works very well. It’s my brand new iPhone and iPad that often when I first pick them up will not load emails or connect to the internet until I go into settings and turn Wi-Fi off and back on again. Once I do that everything works fine until I set it down for a bit and then often when I pick it up in again I have to turn off Wi-Fi and back on to connect to the internet.

The first step is to restart your router by turning it off for about 15 seconds.

Also, go to Settings/Wi-Fi and tap the i next to the network name, and make sure Auto-Join is on.

I wouldn’t be posting here if I hadn’t already tried the simple obvious troubleshooting steps. Of course autojoin is on I wouldn’t reconnect after turning Wi-Fi off and back on!

How can anyone possibly know what you tried if you don’t tell us? Very few people know to restart their router when they have a problem. It is far from obvious, especially if other devices using it are working.
