screen time ran out early

i have a screen time of 30 minutes on games/entertainment. everything else on my phone has no limit, just a downtime of 6pm. today i went on youtube for 4 minutes and in the middle of a video i was watching it said my screen time ran out (this was at 1pm). this has happened to me before but mostly the screen time un glitches itself. i went onto settings to see if i accidentally had something running w/out knowing but the only activity logged is that 4 minute period on youtube, and my screen time is still saying that it’s run out. how can i fix?? please help.

Hello kpoopsie,

Let's start by making sure your iPhone is all up to date using the steps below:

1. Back up your device using iCloud or your computer.
2. Plug your device into power and connect to the internet with Wi-Fi.
3. Go to Settings > General, then tap Software Update.
4. If you see two software update options available, choose the one that you want to install.
The Settings app on iPhone showing options to update to iOS 14.8 or iOS 15.

5. Tap Install Now. If you see Download and Install instead, tap it to download the update, enter your passcode, then tap Install Now. If you don't know your passcode, learn what to do.

You can also find those steps in this resource: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

Afterwards, you can use these steps to make sure that YouTube is also all up to date: How to manually update apps on your Apple device - Apple Support Updating will help to further isolate a potential software conflict.

Should that still persist, do you experience the same behavior if you temporarily set similar limits for other apps?
