I fixed it!!! (Mac Internet Recovery Error -1008F)

The explanation in this thread did not work for me...

I went to iCloud.com > Find iPhone > and removed my Macbook. Then I tried Internet Recovery again and still continued to receive error -1008F. You still need to do this in order to get this to work, but I believe the thread is missing the most important last bit of information in order to fix this issue.

Here's how I fixed it:

After removing the device from the "Find iPhone" on iCloud.com, return to the iCloud.com main page.

Under your user icon, find "account settings"

In Account setting find your Mac under the "My Devices" tab

Click on your mac and on the left side of the screen where all the devices are listed, hover over the Mac and a blue circle with a "x" should appear. Click that to remove the Mac from your Apple account.

Restart your Mac and boot to Internet Recovery again.

This should allow your Mac to boot from internet recovery as it is no longer associated with your Apple account in any way. This was the only thing that worked for me.
