Apple does NOT send messages like this.
The message is a scam that is trying to trick you into providing information to the bad buys who have your phone......so they can get into it and access your data.
Hopefully, you did not provide any information like your Apple ID, Apple ID Password, or any other personal information.

Apple will never get involved in a lost/stolen device, therefore that message does NOT come from Apple. Be extremely careful and DO NOT give any personal info to anyone.
These are the only steps you can perform in such a situation:--> If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch is lost or stolen - Apple Support, and/or:--> Use the Find My app to locate a missing device or item - Apple Support

Apple did not send you anything. The email was from the criminal who has your phone.
If you used the link in the email to “sign in’, you gave the criminal the credentials for your iCloud account.
They have removed the activation lock. You will never see that phone again.
You need to change your password. NOW!
