Problems with Apple pay

I have an iPhone 6s. Apple Pay used to work on my device, but it suddenly stopped. I wasn’t able to restore it in any way. It simply doesn’t function(I approach it to (any) POS reader and it seems like it doesn’t recognize it). I have tried multiple times with no luck.

I have the software version 15.6 (the latest for my model).

any ideas?
