Macbook Air Monitor Display
I have a persistent black screen on the right 2.5 inches of the screen. Window underneath it is there but is covered. I have restored and did a deep scan. Nothing comes up.
Is this a monitor issue or am I missing a fix?

Kind of hard to offer suggestions when we don't know exactly what you see.
Also, does the black screen show up when you take a screen shot? Press Cmd+shift+3 on your keyboard to take a screen shot.

Depending on your settings, it may look like nothing happened. Look on the desktop for a ScreenShot file with a date.
If its not on the desktop, press cmnd+shift+5, then click on Options in the control bar that appears and see where its saving the screenshots to.
You can change it to one of the other locations offered there.
