Hello prangon,

For help with the alert about Fingerprint limit reached, follow the steps below:

  1. Restart your Mac. How to turn your Mac on or off - Apple Support

2. If Touch ID isn't working even after a restart, did anyone created a new login keychain like described in this help article? Change or reset the password of a macOS user account - Apple Support

  • If the user gets a “canceled by another authentication” alert, restart the Mac and create a new login keychain once more, then attempt to set up Touch ID again.

3. Create a backup of your current data and computer: Back up your Mac with Time Machine - Apple Support

4. If the above steps have not helped, next we need to use Internet Recovery to reinstall macOS.

Use one of these key combinations instead of Command-R: How to reinstall macOS from macOS Recovery - Apple Support

  • Option-Command-R: Please be aware, while this doesn't erase your data, this process does upgrade your computer to the latest compatible macOS version.

  • Shift-Option-Command-R: Please be aware, while this also doesn't erase your data, this reinstalls the macOS that came with your Mac, or the closest version still available. If necessary, you will need to upgrade to whatever macOS version you wish to upgrade to after the reinstall completes.

Best Regards.
