MacBook Air Randomly Shuts Off When Unplugged

I believe my MacBook Air is a 2017 model.

So, this probably started a couple days ago. I usually have my laptop plugged in all day, which I realize is probably not recommended. But I have also been unplugging it at night and allowing it to go into sleep mode on its own. I rarely if ever do a full shutdown. Starting about two days ago, I will wake up to find the MacBook completely off, on it's own. I found this strange, and have attempted to see how it behaves when not on its charger.

I unplug the laptop, and let it rest on its own. It will either turn off immediately when unplugged, or stay on for around 15 - 20 minutes before instantly shutting off no matter what is being done on it. My battery says it is at 100%, and this last time I managed to get the battery to drain to about 80% before it, again, shut down on its own.

I have googled many solutions, and attempted many things having to do with PRAM and SMC. My MacBook Air has in the past required a new battery when the old one was failing, and I had a new one installed about a year and a half ago. As I said, I do leave the thing on very frequently and on its charger most of the time. The battery tells me it is in Normal condition, and like I said charges to 100%. I have seen with the old battery that it would give me a warning if it was failing, and required replacement. This one hasn't done that.

Not a good idea to use Non Apple Original Batteries in Apple Computers

Batteries are considered Consumable Products. Over time it will degrade to a point where it needs to be replaced. The usage is normal as the capacity will go up and down all the time and never stay always at 100%. Apple Batteries are rated for 1000 Full Battery Cycles and / or 80% Capacity before needing Evaluation or replacement.

For additional reading on Battery and Apple Computers this link may help. About battery health management in Mac notebooks and especially for the M1 / M2 and Big Sur  & Monterey If battery charging is paused or on hold on your Mac

Depending on the Age of the computer, some aspects from the above links, may or may not apply to your computer.

A feature introduced into Big Sur & Monterey was to preserve the number of Full Battery Cycles - there was an Algorithm coded into the macOS. It is perfectly Normal for Big Sur , Monterey to Pause / Suspend charging the battery beyond 80% and hold it at that level. One can nudge / over-ride this by clicking the Battery Icon on Desktop Top Bar and allow charging beyond 80%. From observations, it will Pause / Suspend again once reading 90%. Same procedure to over-ride and will charge to 100%

Batteries from other than Apple are questionable at least and possible dangerous and best.

This would akin to buying replacement parts for your Mercedes Benz from some knock-off manufacture.

The Fan Belt may fit and function for a short time and presto . . . disaster while driving on the Auto Route at 140 KMPH

It is alway best the replace batteries from the Original Supplier - Apple

I suppose I must've purchased from these people. I bought the replacement battery off Amazon, and wasn't fully educated on what to look for at the time. I just need to know for sure if the issue is my battery or not. It seems highly likely, but as I showed the system report shows the battery condition as good.

I am not on Monterey or Big Sur, my laptop is still running on Mojave and I have no interest in upgrading due to what I need the computer for.
