Speech Bubble in a vertical video - impossible?

Speech Bubble is a standard title/element in FCP. When I try to use it in a vertical video (1080x1920) it can not be seen. The text inside the bubble DOES appear. Is there a way to properly use the Speech Bubble in a vertical video?

I added an *Aspect Adjust* parameter to the Title so you can fit it in Vertical or Square video *and* I fixed a couple of other issues concerning Bubble Width and Bubble Height.

You can download the fix (Speech Bubbles - SC) from

If you need help installing it:

There's no way anyone can get in and re-rig this thing. (Quite frankly, it's a mess!) There is a Widget that is in use but does not have any access in Motion (Widget Widget). Apple has a way of being able to hide some widgets from access.

I have taken a look at this title by opening a copy in Motion.

As it is now, it won't work in a vertical project. The position of the bubble is controlled by a rig - more specifically, a pop-up menu, with the options "Upper Right", "Upper Left", "Lower Right" or "Lower Left".

This pop-up controls how the speech buble is positioned onscreen. As it is now, its location ends up being outside the frame if the project is vertical. Since the position is rigged to this pop-up, you cannot manually change it in FCP.

One way to make it work would be to make a copy - call it, say, "Speech Bubbles (vertical)" and adjust the position and scale of the bubbles determined by each setting of the pop-up.
