Setting up a new iMac. Migration is slow and quit. I’m using WiFi is there an alternative?

Yes. Wi-Fi is just too slow for transferring this amount of data and corruption of the data will often occur. I strongly recommend that you use a USB cable. Then it should work just fine. In my experience the transfer via USB took around 45 minutes. That will vary depending on the amount of data being transferred. i how this helps you.
