My Apple ID/username is inconsistent across devices

The problem started about 1 month ago when I got a new MBP for work. In setting up that device, IT requires that the login/userid on the machine match your company ID. Every employee ID is first initial, last initial, followed by 6 numbers, mine is (rm728589). After going through the initial setup, I then connected my new MBP to my Apple iCloud account. Ever since doing that I'm seeing weird behavior. Multiple places now instead of seeing my name, I see that company ID. Some examples.

On my Apple Watch, rather than seeing my name when its telling me information about my activity, it uses the company ID (see picture below)
When sending anything via AirDrop to my phone (iPhone12). For instance, if my wife wants to AirDrop a picture, my phone shows up as rm728589, it used to be my name. I've never set my company ID on my phone, so the only way I can imagine its getting there is through some iCloud setting.

I've scoured through my AppleID settings and nowhere can I find that "rm728589" listed. So why do my devices (Apple Watch, iPhone) think my name changed after setting up my MBP?

Thanks Eric_G1. I think the Contacts might have been the issue. Upon looking at 'My Card' on my laptop it had my workID as the First Name, and nothing as the Last Name. I've updated it and as far as I can tell, now when I AirDrop I no longer see that workID. I checked my contact information card on my iPhone and it looked correct, so I don't know if it was wrong there too and updating it on my Mac stealth updated it via iCloud or not. But it looks good everywhere now. Hopefully the next time I get an update on my watch from the Activity app I'll see my name and not the workID also.

Hello milnuts,

As it sounds like the Mac is being managed by your work/business, it may be helpful to try reaching out to their IT department for guidance on how profiles may be affecting things.

Also, try checking your Contacts app , and scroll to the top to what should be your own card (will say 'My Card' under it). Tap on it here, and see if the 'name' shows up anywhere here.
