Watch won’t update OS8.7 says not connected to wifi

I’ve been trying to update my watch (series 4) to the new OS8.7 update but every time I try it says the watch isn’t connected to wifi. Both of my watch and iPhone are connected to wifi. I have shut down and restarted, unpaired the watch and started over. I’m out of ideas. Any help?
