Why does Translate on iOS / iPad OS not display pinyin?

Is there a way to get pinyin to display on translate? Please Apple add this feature 🙏🏼

Adding pinyin for chinese system wide I learn Chinese and live in China, me and my friends find it difficult to read Chinese, so pinyin (Latin transliteration) is really helpful to speed up learning and productivity in fully/Chinese apps. Some of my friends shared how they change the system font, so it can display the correct pronunciation of each word in Chinese on top of it. So far I could not find a way to do it in iOS. I wish Apple could provide an option for that.

How do I change my iPhone language to Chinese? My Chinese partner asked me to set up her new iPhone. I set the language to English so I could navigate the screens quickly, as my knowledge of Chinese is limited. All went well, until I tried to change the language to ‘Chinese (Simplified’. Apple translate no longer works after iOS 17.0.3 update I’ve just downloaded the latest Apple iPhone software 17.3 and have obviously restarted my phone several times, but the Apple translate no longer works. I have selected the languages to download but they never seem to download. They start the process but never finish. [Re-Titled by Moderator]

Apple Translate is currently limited in its language support. You can communicate a feature request to Apple, you can do so using Apple’s Product Feedback portal. For iPad and iPadOS:

You can’t use Google translate if you right click on text on the web or anywhere within iOS.
