Mail on my MacBook Air won't sync with my Gmail folders/labels like my iPhone and iPad do. I've tried everything suggested I can find on the internet and nothing worked. Any help appreciated.

Got it! I went to my Google Dashboard settings under IMAP access. There was a limit on number of messages in an IMAP folder, and when I took that off (which should be the default), all the older emails downloaded.

So, Try a Mew App Password.
Sometimes, changes (i.e. updates) are made to a device, and then Mail services become misconfigured (which is what a new app password is intended to fix). Go here: Sign in with App Passwords - Google Account Help - Google

Use a New App Password:
Do you use an App Password? If so, try a new App Password. Sometimes, changes (i.e. updates) are made to the device, and then mail server syncing becomes an issue (which is what a new App Password it intended to fix). For example, you'd go here for gmail: Sign in with App Passwords - Google Account Help - Google
"Don't use App Password. Also, it's only older emails that won't sync (populate the folders/labels). Newer emails seem to sync fine."

Interesting that you need no passcode.
If it will not sync, then remove the account, and then add it back.

Tried that earlier (removing the account, then adding it back) without any luck.
I have to use the Password for the Gmail account in the Mail app. I thought you meant a password to use Mail.
