iPhone 6 Plus, iOS 12
Your iPhone 6 Plus can only be updated as far as iOS 12.5.5. It has reached the end of the line as far as updates.
Newer apps require phones that are running higher iOS systems. In your case, if you want to run these apps, you will need a newer phone.
Your profile indicates that you have an iPhone 6 Plus and have iOS 12 installed on it. The highest iOS version that can be installed on your iPhone 6 Plus is iOS version 12.5.5 and you already have it installed. As you have discovered, you cannot update your iPhone any further.
What is happening is that some of the apps that you want to download or update, from the App Store, are requiring iOS version 14 or higher. Your iPhone 6 Plus cannot accomplish this and you will need a newer model iPhone to run iOS version 14 or higher.

If you're certain about the iPhone model and iOS version your friend has, he probably downloaded the app when it only needed an older version of iOS. There's no way to get earlier versions of an app from the App Store.
There are lots of apps out there that require newer iOS than what your iPhone 6 can run (iOS 12)..
If you need/want apps that require newer iOS, you'll have to upgrade your iPhone model
How do I upgrade if it’s not showing new update on my devices?
Already answered above.
I will have to buy a new phone, is that what you said right?
Check again to see that I said......you will need a newer phone.
Okay
The only way you upgrade the Model......is buy a newer phone.
You have an iPhone 6 Plus. An upgrade would be a new model 11, 12 or 13.
I’m a little bit confused because my friend has the iPhone 6 Plus running iOS 12.5.5 and the same apps he installed when I try downloading it requires a new version on my iPhone
Your friend likely has an iPhone 6S or 6S Plus, which will handle iOS updates up to the current iOS 15.6.
Unfortunately, you can't make an iPhone 6 Plus an iPhone 6S or 6S Plus.
