Has anyone figured out how to hide the sidebar while reading email in landscape mode on an iPad. The last post I read was from 2012. Surely the world of Apple has advanced far enough by this time to have solved this issue. My case sets up landscape, not portrait, like most do. It’s so annoying to have half my screen taken up by a useless email list.
iOS/iPadOS for iPad Mail App has, by design, always shown a left-hand sidebar when viewed in Landscape mode. There is no method by which it can be suppressed.
Other third-party Mail Apps might be better suited to your needs.
Apple do invite submission of constructive comments and feature requests via its Product Feedback portal. While you are unlikely to receive a personal reply, we understand that all comments are logged and forwarded to the appropriate team(s) within Apple.
