The App Store has good stuff, but don't think it's the only safe source for safe Apple compatible products. Some developers just don't what to put their apps out there the App Store way/
You have to be careful, as with all things internet, but there are many worthy non App Store apps out there.
Is libre office safe to use in mac because it is not available in App Store and have to be downloaded from internet?
