AV TO USB2.0 missing

Hi, I'm trying to transfer old camcorder videos to digital on the Mac through the USB-C port, and it seems I need to choose AV TO USB2.0 as camera on either Quicktime or OBS, but it's never an option. Any ideas? thx!

have you contacted the manufacturer of the video capture device and ask them if the driver for it is compatible with monterey? I know that in my instance, my device stopped working as of the Big Sur upgrade. the manufacturer of my device stopped support for anything after Catalina. probably because they want me to purchase a new device. but rather than that, I had a spare external SSD, so I loaded Catalina onto it and boot from that when I need to use the device.
