Esim confusion

I’m hearing that the iPad Pro 11” 3rd gen takes Esim but I’m not actually finding anywhere in settings that tells me this is true.

also looking to purchase a data plan for it and I hear you can do this through the iPad?

All recent iPad WiFi+Cellular models feature both a physical and internal eSIM. You can compare iPad models p and check their individual specifications here:

For Cellular setup and configuration, see:

Take another look at iPad settings:

Settings > General > About

Do you see a field labelled EID? If yes, this is the unique identifier for your iPad eSIM.

If provisioning your eSIM for Cellular service, your chosen Cellular provider will provide explicit instructions.

If your WiFi+Cellular iPad was purchased from a Cellular Carrier - and not from Apple - in some circumstances the Carrier will disable the eSIM.
