My watch only lasts 12 hours max and it’s brand new. Is this normal

Is it taking a long time to charge as well? I have a brand new Series 7 and it also only lasts 10-12 hours and takes more than 5-6 hours to get near full charge, sometimes only 85%. I took it to the Genius Bar, and they told me to update the software, which I did, and if worked better for a week. Now it is back to taking forever to charge and not lasting a full day. Did not have this problem with my series 4.

This is a ridiculous response to the question. you should not have to do all this with a brand new Apple Watch. They are designed to have all of these features. If you do all of this, just buy a timex.
