Duplex printing does not print to back of page 1

I have an HP printer. Every time I print a document duplex the first page has page 1, but the back is blank. Page 2 is put as the front of the second page. I am running Monterey 12.5. I see others reported this same issue but all they had was advice on how to print duplex; adding more blank pages etc. Any advice on this?

Printer presets not saving Since upgrading to Ventura, my printer presets are not saving. I already had working printer presets in place before upgrading, such as 2 page B&W from drawer three. Part of the preset works. It will print 2 page B&W, but it doesn't pull specifically from drawer three. I've only noticed a problem in the drawer selection and the scaling options. I tried creating new presets and those didn't work either. I also updated the driver and it didn't correct it. I've read posts from other people will similar issues, but the only responses I see are how to set up a preset. Not knowing how to create a preset is clearly not the issue.
