I lost my phone in the fields and I turned lost mode on and I can’t find it still I tried to ping but no pings came out if I turn off lost mode can I hear sounds of it being pinged then?

If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch is lost or stolen - Apple Support
we tried but they said whatever you see on find my iPhone is what they can do.
Can I still ping my phone if I turned on lost mode
