Disabling People (Face Recognition) in Apple Photo 7.0
Is there a way to disable People in Apple Photo 7.0?
Thanks in advance.

Sorry, not sure what you're talking about there. Off the top of my head both Mylio and Lightroom far exceed the capabilities of Photos and both have "proven to have a solid support team". And that's just two.

I do hate to be a bother but can insignificant be defined?
I ask because of all the data files kept on my hard drive the vast majority goes to the application Photos.
Meanwhile, the majority of data files on my laptop are Numbers, Notes and Pages with zero images. One-Hundred percent text driven datum.
I get a picture takes up more space than text, but how much more is being taken up by the Photo database files being duplicated?
Is there a concrete way to determine the amount?
Thanks and obviously you are going to get The Bravo Award :)
It's mostly text: entry in the database tables for the location within the photo, and the name if you supply it. Then a tiny thumbnail.
If you want more options then there are other apps, some don't have the Faces feature, tho most do. Some have it and it can be turned off. Using Photos is not compulsory in any way.
It is compulsory, save I want to put an unsupported application on any of my devices.
When I read the size 1 font with these apps, they pretty much take your money (subscriptions) and that is it, save with Capo and EverWeb.
Both have proven to have a solid support team.
Thanks.
There are many excellent. high quality applications that are not available on the App Store. Adobe, world leaders in imaging software, make Lightroom:
https://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop-lightroom.html
It's a far more powerful application than Photos, and includes the ability to disable the faces feature.
Mylio is made by a more recent start-up but it's been around 7 or eight years now.
Yes, go see, eh.
No. It is what it is. Tell Apple what missing features you'd like restored or new features added in Photos via Feedback - Photos - Apple
One of my most significant issues with apps like that is the disc space getting used for something I don't want or need.
So, how much disc space is that using up?
Thanks.
The amount of space that is taken up by that is insignificant as all the info is kept in the database files.
I listed this as the best answer for obvious reasons and then discovered it is not in the Apple App Store.
We shall see, eh.
I would think it would't be more that a few megabytes, MBs.
