MY IP12 is showing a notification for clearing memory

My IP storage is only about 45% used but I'm now getting a notification that clearing memory is needed. I've not seen this before so is Memory different then IPhone storage?

Yes it was asking to load an app and I deduced it was a scam but at times its hard to tell. Will take a screen shot next time it comes in. thanks LD150
