My computer doesn't charge, when I plug it.

My computer doesn't charge, when I plug it. The problem is constant, and seems to be common, and the common answer ("turn it off") is far from good. A laptop is supposed to charge its battery. What to do?

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 11.6
