Creating custom desktop icons on an iPad Mini

I'd like to create some icons on my iPad Mini.

For example, to play a particular audiobook (stored on its hard drive) instead of having to drill down from Books, to Library, to the one I want.

Or one that shows all music on the iPad by one composer to select from, without having to create a playlist.

Is that doable on this device?
