Transparent network proxy for Apple system services wants to use the "login" keychain Hi, I need a definitive answer about the above message I get frequently after clearing my cache. Is this a malware issue or a bonafide Apple/Mac message that I should respond to in the way it asks? I have had a lot of problems with eBay verification of my debit card, which was fine for months and then suddenly wasn't, and I am not getting emails from them in the way I should in order to verify my account. I downloaded Intego software as I was getting very concerned about my Macs security, and it said I was Malware-free when I did a scan. Should I be concerned or just do it? Most of what I have read suggests that a proxy server, or anything with a 'd' at the end of it (another message I get asking for password) is probably Malware. I would really appreciate knowledgeable help. Thanks

Help: "Transparent network proxy for Apple system services wants to use the “login” keychain." This signin prompt popup happens sporadically after upgrading from Big Sur to Monterey. Any ideas about this particular persistent keychain login request and how to resolve? There's several past posts with the same inquiry but none are enlightening as far as I can tell. If I click 'cancel' it pops up 3 more times and, if cancelled each time, the prompt goes away but not forever. So, 4 persistent popups one after the other. Here's a snapshot of keychain keyword "transpare" search:There is 4 instances related to "com.apple.mobileactivationd". I have no idea what that is. I do have an iphone but they do not sync with one another and I don't use icloud. Searching keychain for "proxy" result is below, (Dec 31 modifications.) I did enter my password a few times and it went away but it appears again later. Seems arbitrary. BTW my profile should say: 27" IMAC 2020, T2, MONTEREY 12.6.2

The message you're receiving is in reference to Keychain Access, which handles passwords and other credentials so you don't have to remember a lot of different passwords. You can get more information on what Keychain Access does here: What is Keychain Access on Mac? - Apple Support

The message indicates a service wants to use Keychain to either save or obtain login credentials. What is asking, "Transparent Network Proxy", is related to your internet network and handles communication between your device and the internet. The feature is not exclusive to your Mac, but all devices using your network.
