I would like to send an invite to a group of people but I would like to be the only one receiving responses. I’ve done this in the past and it annoyed some people can you tell me how to make sure I’m the only one that gets everyone’s replies thank you in advance

Carol B. is correct. You can't do that with the Messages app.
I don’t see anywhere in Support that describes how to set up a group message that way - Send a message to a group on iPhone - Apple Support
But I can see how that could be a useful feature. You can suggest it here: Product Feedback - Apple
