Do you have the original receipt from an authorized reseller? A receipt showing the serial number is the only way to resolve that.

I did have that issue but fortunately the warranty was never needed and I was able to get non-warranty service from Apple without a "validated" purchase date. I've never had an issue setting up my Mac with an Apple ID.

Sometimes this happens if the purchase wasn't transmitted to Apple or if there some sort of problem with the transmission of the purchase info - like an incorrect serial number.
