How to delete recently opened items numbers

Do want to actually delete the documents, or just remove them from recents?
If you want to delete them you can try navigating in Finder to where they are stored, and delete them in the usual way: command-delete.

"Close" or "delete"? Two very different things, of course.

my apologies for the miscommunication.
would have liked to delete the recent parts so that they are no longer visible in the quick-dial menu of numbers.
