I have four suggestions for you.

  1. Have you downloaded and tried the latest driver that HP offers? sometimes an older driver will still work.
  2. If that doesn't work you should ask HP when an updated Monterey driver will be released.
  3. Does your printer have the Air Print feature? If so, use it and no driver is required.
  4. Last, you can check the respected web site below where volunteers write free drivers for older printers which are no longer supported, but which work with newer operating systems.

It is worth checking out. Good luck.

Download the HP Smart for Desktop application from the Mac App Store. If a driver exists for your LaserJet, HP's application will find and install it. Otherwise…

Apple's built-in AirPrint supports an HP Laser NS MFP 1005 and sub-models 1005{c, c1, c2, n, nw, w}. If that is the actual printer you have, then you don't need any HP drivers, but you do need the printer configured for either wired, or Wi-Fi networking so that Apple's Bonjour services can detect it and associate the AirPrint drivers with it. Is that your specific printer?
