I have no single clue why, but since today in my project every time I open it, then select a clip, then click on the retiming button, it get grayed out and I can't not only retime that clip, but nothing else.
Any idea why?

The solution to apply retiming to a still , or a title, is easy: select it, press Option-G to make a compound clip, and apply the retiming to the compound.
Reset your preferences. Quit the application. Hold ⌥ ⌘ as you double click the library you want to open to launch the application. A dialog appears asking you if you want to Delete Preferences. If you don't do this while double-clicking your library, the application will open a default Untitled library.
Please post a screenshot of what’s happening in the project when the clip is selected.
I did it, no luck. But I think I have a clue now: I am trying to retime a image clip, that I move with automation. Retime option seems to work with other video clips, just you have to click the button that is grayed out (from the previous image clip selection) and all the retime options appear enabled again - and that's what confused me.
Now, is there a way to reverse the automation (position, in my case) and make it faster? That would do for me.
The alternative, I guess, would be to render the single moving image as a video.

how much empty space do you have on your macos system & empty space on the external hard drive (if youre using one which you should be)?
how old is your computer?
does this happen after a you close fcp & shutdown your computer then start your computer after the shutdown?
before ‘reseting’ fcp preferences go into Safe Boot & Repair Permissions
Safe Boot will remove any temporary files & do a system's check on macos, it's kinda like flossing your teeth but for a macos :D
