is anyone else upset with this iTunes issue? now we have to pay for it?
does anyone know a way to get iTunes on my new MacBook? the only thing I can find isn't free, after paying this much for a laptop it should be free.

You can't get iTunes on a Mac running macOS 12 Monterey. iTunes was replaced with the release of Mojave almost 4 years ago.
But you don't need it. Nor do you need to pay for anything.
Anything you did with iTunes before, you can do now with the TV App, Music App and Finder.
