Why does apple mail continually downloading messages. I'm on a new MacBook Air running Monterey 12.4 - I thought it was because of the new computer but it's been over three months now.

The current stable release of Monterey including bug fixes, is macOS 12.5.1 —I would start there.

Thanks Leroy - I had tried that but said I was up to date. Just tried again and on third "Check Updates" 12.5.1 came up. Installing now!
