Blank 'alias' thumbnails in Finder can't be deleted

I'm running macOS Monterey 12.5 on my MacBook Pro and I have dozens of photo files that show up as a blank white icon in Finder that I cannot delete no matter what I try. Dragging to trash does nothing. The 'delete' option in toolbar is greyed out whenever I select one of these files.

For example, when I try to open one I get a message that says 'The alias “MAV_5921.NEF” can’t be opened because the original item can’t be found." One of the options it gives me is to 'delete alias' but when I click that it doesn't do anything. When I 'Get Info' it doesn't give me the option to do anything - it won't even let me change permissions. This happens with all sorts of file formats including .jpg, .nef. and .heic.

I've moved photos around so many times and I know this has to do with that but at this point I just want these things off my computer!

Here are some screenshots:

Thank you!
