How to use the iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2017) as a display for Mac Mini M1 (2020)?

No sorry, the 2020 M1 Mac mini does not support using the iMac as a display in Target Display Mode.

If your purchasing an M1 Mac mini or Mac Studio, then you will also need an aftermarket display.
