iPad battery drain on standby

I use iPad Air 4th gen it was okay until I updated to iOS 15.4. It automatically drains battery when it’s locked or when I’m not using it (100% to 20% overnight) I tried every method. Reseted it, turned off all the location service, background app refresh, auto lock, reduced motion but still having same issue. I checked my battery health on coconutbattery which is 90 percent so I guess it’s not because of the battery. I kept updating my device waiting for Apple to fix this issue but it’s still the same 💔. Please Apple/anyone for god sake help me with this issue. Thank you! God bless you!

Hi lestat97!

We're happy to help with your iPad battery issue. Do you have apps that give push notifications through the night? The reason we ask is that those notifications illuminate your iPad display and can contribute to battery usage. You can find other tips for maximizing your iPad battery life here:

Batteries - Maximizing Performance - Apple

When you look at battery usage information, are there specific apps that are consuming a high percentage of the battery?

Cheers!

I am having a similar problem (warm device, excess battery drain) on two iPhone 12 pro maxes, an iPad Pro, and an iPad Pro second generation. I am using AT&T in St. Louis, Missouri. Problem started after installing iOS 15.6.1 and updating my apps. I am getting as much as 3.5 GB per day of "Settings > Cellular> System Services> Push Notifications", and my (otherwise healthy) battery requires unusually frequent recharging. I turned off all app Notifications (except Phone and Messages), and all background app refresh. Also, at Apple Support's suggestion, in Privacy>Location Services>System Services, I turned off several location related System Services (such as Location Based Alerts). This has not worked to stop the Push Notification data hemorrhage. Phone calls to Apple Support on 8/21/22 and 8/22/22 also failed to solve the problem. So far, the only way to stop the Push Notifications is to turn off Cellular Data. Even after stopping Cellular Data, I have noticed unusually rapid battery depletion if Wi-Fi is turned on. Unfortunately, my only suggestion is to contact Apple Support.
