A Mac cannot be backed up to iCloud. You’ll need an external hard drive to backup using Time Machine. You’ll want a drive at least twice as large as the storage on your Mac. Eg. If you have a 1TB Mac, get at least a 2TB external drive.

You cannot. Time Machine is already installed on your Mac. What are you trying to do?
Thank you for the answer! I have been registered for an Iclouddrive 200 Gb. I'd like to keep the space for the timemachine backup up to 40Gb in order to keep the rest of the space for my standard and constant folders.
Thank you very much!
