Transfer old MacBook Air data to new

I started the transfer from my old 2020 MacBook to the new 2022 MacBook because I’m going to wipe the old one clean and give it to my son. The transfer is taking forever – it says it should take about 55 hours using Wi-Fi. Is this normal? I asked the Apple Store and they said they could do the transfer but it might take two days. So I think I should just keep transferring it at home. Any thoughts?

55 hours is not out of the realm of possibility. Let it finish. The time estimate might go down.
