Why Can’t my iPad Air 2 update to iPadOS 15.6.1

I have a iPad Air 2 and it’s stuck on 15.6. Apple released a apple update maybe a few days ago, iOS/iPadOS 15.6.1 and every time I try to check for a new update it keeps saying “iPadOS 15.6 iPad OS is up to date” why can’t my iPad Air 2 find the update and I’ve tried lots of things like rebooting it, Wi-Fi, I have plenty of storage (64GB) and only use like 10GB. So what’s the problem, is it too old? It’s the 2014 model and apple said the update will be compatible with it but keeps saying it’s up to date. Please Help. Thanks!
