new m2 macbook air does not recognize samsung t5 ssd
i have the new MacBook air m2 and am trying to backup but the external samsung t5 ssd keeps asking to be re connected. it comes up in finder but time machine docent recognise it
any ideas ?

Is it directly connected or thru a hub or dock? If not try a direct connection. Did you format it with an Apple format? Many drives come formatted NTFS.
I agree with ku4hx's reply. but I'll change it slightly from "You don't need any of the Samsung software" to you should NEVER use Samsung software.
when you use software from just about any manufacturer for their storage device you run the risk of that same software not being compatible with macOS updates / upgrades. it can cause the software to stop working. at best this will cause you a headache. at worst it can render your data inaccessible. it is always best to use disk utility to erase and format a drive before use to remove any preloaded software.
You don't need any of the Samsung software except for their security "Touch" software. If you have it installed, uninstall it and retry.
Did you use any Samsung software that came with the drive in the past?
connected via usb-c cable
it comes up in finder but the samsung software is asking to be refreshed as disk not connected/found.
have downloaded all software i can find from samsung for ssd products.
was working fine on my old MacBook but not on the new m2 MacBook air
